Sports Injuries
Sports injuries are the worst! They are painful and take the pleasure out of the things we love doing the most whether it be running, walking, tennis, dance or any other sport. We at the Osteopathy and Podiatry Centre look to getting you back on track as quickly as we can whilst at the same time preventing re-injury.
Injuries are usually grouped into the acute and chronic injury lists.
An acute injury is usually one that happens suddenly and is normally caused by trauma and force. This is often caused by being hit by another player or piece of equipment or due to sprain or strain. .
Chronic injuries and pain refer pain that develops over a longer period of time and physical injury that constantly reoccurs and or is persistent. Many of these may seem mild over time and become worse or just cause constant discomfort whilst playing and or after sports.
Common Sporting injuries managed by the Osteopathy and Podiatry Centre:
- Ankle sprains
- Runners Knee (Patello femoral Syndrome)
- Achilles Tendonitis or Tendonopathy
- Back sprains
- Tennis elbow
- Illiotibial Band syndrome (sharp pain on the outside and front of the knee usually)

These are just some of the common injuries seen at the Osteopathy and Podiatry Centre by our Podiatrists and Osteopaths. However there are many more injuries we can help with to get you back to playing the sport you love pain free.
